Calling all future influencers, inventors, change-makers, change artists, life changers–undergraduate and graduate students with an interest in exploring innovative mindsets and methods have the unique opportunity to work with ISU alum influencer, innovator, and entrepreneur, Dennis Muilenburg, former Chairman, President & CEO of The Boeing Company and current Owner & CEO of DAM CyFly Consulting. The six 2-hour monthly sessions will be offered in both an on-line and on campus format for any Iowa State University affiliated undergraduate or graduate student.

When the COVID-19 pandemic forced the Iowa State community to migrate online for the remainder of spring semester, the Student Innovation Center’s April grand opening was put on the back burner.
However, construction, landscaping and equipment installation pushed forward. Today, students, faculty and staff are working to ensure the building is ready to open to campus when fall semester begins Aug. 17. Facilities planning and management announced in late June the building had received a certificate of full occupancy from the state of Iowa.
[Sept. 21, 2019, Iowa State Daily] The Student Innovation Center will provide students and faculty with an opportunity to test out new teaching methods, interact with members from other colleges and collaborate with each other.
[Jan. 10, 2019, Inside Iowa State] Jim Oliver, University Professor and Larry and Pam Pithan Professor of Mechanical Engineering, began a fulltime appointment Jan. 1 as the first director of the Student Innovation Center.
[Feb. 9, 2017, Inside Iowa State] In April, demolition will commence on the two oldest sections of Sweeney Hall and the 83-year-old Nuclear Engineering Lab.
[Jan. 12, 2017, Inside Iowa State] Construction on the Student Innovation Center begins this year. The glass-encased building will be an eye-catching feature in the west campus landscape.
